Club Golf Miramar sits on the coast between Espinho and Porto, one of the oldest golf clubs in Portugal, founded in the early 1930s by Frank Gordon together with the Portuguese golfers Cláudio and Mário Martins, who wanted to make the game more accessible to local players. The course was designed by Frank Gordon and Artur Mariani Jr., with some tees set on top of the coastal dunes.
It's a nine-hole, traditional links-style course, played twice for a par-70 round of 35 on each nine. The 7th green and the par-4 9th stand out as the course's best holes, the 9th prized for its length, tight out-of-bounds on the right and a fast, well-bunkered green. The ocean is a constant presence, and the wind off the sea plays its part in how the course sets up from one round to the next.
